New townhouses are being planned on Stuart Street in Lafayette, Contra Costa County. The project proposal includes the construction of twelve condominium units within three separate buildings on two vacant parcels. Bay Area Urban Development is the project sponsor. Studio FCF is managing the design concepts and construction.
The property site merges two lots into one and spans an area of 17,148 square feet. Named Samantha Townhomes, the project consists of twelve townhomes with attached garages separated by private driveways. Each townhouse will be two stories above the basement. 19 bike storage spots are also on the site. The houses are offered as a mix of one and two-bedroom units. The total residential area ranges from 1,110 square feet to 1,731 square feet. Two of the homes will be set aside as below-market-rate units. The locality will offer well-landscaped outdoor spaces for its residents.
The proposal also includes the removal of fourteen protected trees. The street-facing facades will rise to a height of 35 feet and feature horizontal siding and cement plaster.
The Planning Commission will continue to conduct meetings to review the project plans. The estimated date of project completion has not been announced yet.
The property lot is located toward the end of Stuart Street in the East End District.
