Development permits have been submitted seeking the approval of a remodeling project at 49 Sussex Street in Glen Park, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the demolition of an existing one-story storage structure on the site and calls for the construction of a new two-story single-family residence above a two-level basement with a new attached garage.
Mesh Design Build Studio is responsible for the designs.

The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 2,214 square feet. The building will yield a total built-up area of 3,930 square feet and open space of 1,358 square feet. Three vehicular parking spaces will be allotted on the site. Constructed in concrete and metal frame, the top floor will be designed to contain an entertainment room, a small office/guest room, and a terrace. The street level floor will have space for a kitchen, living room, and the attached garage. Bedrooms will span over the lower and upper basement levels.

The owner has a goal of obtaining zero net energy for the residence through the use of solar thermal pre-heat systems for hot water, high efficiency hydronic and radiant slab heating systems, and solar PV panel installations.

The permits seeks the modification of the existing approved new construction permit with a new garage at Sussex Street and a side addition. The estimated construction timeline has not been announce yet.
