Increased permits have been filed for the development at 2101 J Street in Boulevard Park, Sacramento. The latest application now seeks to double residential capacity above the 2023-approved entitlements. 2101 J Street Partners LLC is listed as the project applicant.

The latest filing is now looking to develop the site with a six-story apartment complex containing 80 apartments. Demolition will be required for an existing two-story commercial structure. Further information about the unit sizes and design has not been published. Previous plans featured a podium-style complex with a mix of facade treatments, including floor-to-ceiling windows, plaster, and grey fiber cement panels.

The roughly 0.3-acre property is located at the corner of J Street and 21st Street, a block away from the Midtown Farmers’ Market, and 15 minutes away from the California State Capitol Park on foot.

Previous applications state that Heath Dringenberg and Kenny Cruz are responsible for the application via 2101 J Street Partners LLC. Construction is expected to last around two years from the groundbreaking to completion.
