The preliminary assessment is underway for new development at 600 20th Street in Potrero Hill, San Francisco. Permits have been filed seeking approval of a new Life Sciences Laboratory building following an existing commercial building’s demolition. Further information for this latest proposal has yet to be released. Workshop1 is responsible for the application, as well as previous plans for residential development on the same parcel.

An earlier proposal includes the construction of a new residential project consisting of 21 dwelling units. The project site is a 5,500 square-foot lot. The total floor area coverage is 32,680 square feet.

The residential building would offer units as a mix of ten one-bedroom units, nine two-bedroom units, and one three-bedroom unit. 1,694 square feet of commercial space is reserved at the ground floor. 1,182 square feet of private open space at the second level and 2,760 square feet of common open space are included. 39 Class 1 bicycle parking spaces, and four Class 2 bicycle spaces are also allotted on the site.

The property is located toward the northwest corner of 20th and Illinois Street, in close proximity to various retail stores and restaurants.
