RingCentral Coliseum might soon bring employment opportunities at 7000 Coliseum Way, Oakland. Plans call for the multi-purpose stadium to create development-related jobs for Oakland locals starting in the year 2024.

City officials and the African American Sports and Entertainment Group (AASEG) announced their plans to create 30,000 jobs at the Oakland Coliseum site. The initiative, named 30K 4 O-A-K, will offer employment and job training, 30,000 living wage jobs in construction and maintenance, the service industry, retail, security, and many others.

AASEG is still working out plans on what it will develop at the site but they are promising to provide meaningful jobs with fair wages that would impact members of all the communities in Oakland, especially the disenfranchised ones. The jobs will pay a minimum of $15 per hour and some will be offered to teenagers while others will include permanent salaried positions at cost-of-living wages for the area.

Training programs like apprenticeships, mentoring, and coaching are expected to be included for people who may want to try a new career field. Officials estimated that six employment opportunities will be created for every 1,000 square feet of retail space that is built.

The proposal is still being discussed and an estimated project timeline has not been announced yet. The stadium is located adjacent to the Oakland Arena along Interstate 880.
