The property was returned to lenders in 2023 after the developer defaulted on a loan, and the current owner, Columbia Pacific Advisors, is looking for a buyer for the development opportunity.
Zoning permits have been filed for a multi-unit housing development at 7600 MacArthur Boulevard in Eastmont, Oakland. The proposal, dubbed Homefulness 2, aims to provide a ‘small housing project’ for low to no-income individuals. POOR Magazine, a local non-profit led by formerly and currently unhoused people, is responsible for the application.

The latest application now looks to construct 81 apartments at the vacant corner lot. Unity Council and Self-Help Ventures are joint developers.
