Initial permits were submitted for the grading and site preparation of a parcel at 285 12th Street in Oakland. The site is currently under a development proposal to bring 65 new units of affordable housing to Oakland’s Downtown/Chinatown neighborhood. SF YIMBY most recently reported on this project in December of 2025, when it was announced that the project’s developer EBALDC was awarded a sizable grant from the state climate action programs. Since then, the project has begun to move forward with preparation for construction.

Permits have been filed for interim use of 500 Kirkham Street as a parking lot in West Oakland. Previously, the city approved plans for a 1,032-unit mixed-use development by Panoramic Interests. The property was returned to lenders in 2023 after the developer defaulted on a loan, and the current owner, Columbia Pacific Advisors, is looking for a buyer for the development opportunity.

Plans have been filed for a four-story residential complex at 11880 Skyline Boulevard up in the Oakland Hills. The updated proposal for the site looks to bring 31 units of affordable housing, a sizable increase in residential capacity compared with the previous iteration filed by the same developer. San Francisco-based Maracor Development is responsible for the application filing through Skyline Redwood LLC.
