Construction Starts for Lake Merritt Affordable Senior Housing, Oakland

Construction has started for the Chinatown TOD Senior Housing complex within the Lake Merritt BART Station redevelopment in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The project is expected to be the first of four buildings to activate two BART-owned blocks with a mix of residential and commercial real estate. East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation is responsible for the development.

Construction Starting This Summer for Lake Merritt BART Development, Oakland

Bay Area Rapid Transit has announced that construction is scheduled to start this summer on the Lake Merritt BART Station redevelopment in Downtown Oakland. Crews will start by replacing a surface parking lot with a seven-story affordable housing project and a landscaped paseo. Oakland Planning Commission is scheduled to review the updated phasing for the project tomorrow afternoon.

Oakland Design Review Committee To Review Senior Housing in Lake Merritt BART Project

The Oakland Design Review Committee is scheduled to review plans for senior housing at 51 9th Street in Downtown Oakland this afternoon. The project, dubbed Building B, is part of Lake Merritt BART Station Development Phase One, which will reshape surfacing parking with hundreds of homes. The master plan is being developed by a joint venture with Strada Investment Group and the Oakland-based East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation.
