A preliminary application has been filed seeking the approval of a mixed-use project at 934 East Santa Clara Street in San Jose. The project proposal includes the development of a six-story mixed-use building offering residential and commercial space.

The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 0.44 acres. The project proposes the development of a mixed-use structure offering 99 residential units and commercial space spanning an area of 2,500 square feet.

The project is one of the properties within the Five Wounds Urban Village plan. Five Wounds Urban Village (FWUV) is centered on the development of the planned 28th Street/Little Portugal BART Station located on the San José Steel site.

The property is bounded by East Saint James Street, North 28th Street, and North 30th Street.  The FWUV is bounded by US-101 to the east, Santa Clara Street to the south, midblock between North 26th and North 27th Streets and west of Wooster Avenue to the west, and the terminus of Eggo Way to the north, in the City of San José.

Revised plans for the Urban Village land use include the increased residential density from 95 to 250 dwelling units per acre.
