A mew hotel project has been proposed for development at 1669 Monterey Road in San Jose. The project proposal includes the construction of a five-story hotel offering guestrooms, onsite parking, outdoor dining and other amenities. The project calls for the demolition of five commercial structures totaling 20,500 square feet, removal of eight ordinance-size and three non-ordinance-size trees.
Casa Linda Motel LLC is the property owner and project applicant. I & A Architects Inc is responsible for the designs. Wilson & Associates will offer landscape services.
Permits request to rezone the project site from Heavy Industrial Zoning to Planned Development Zoning. The project site spans an area of 1.76 acres. The project will bring a five-story hotel with 120 guestrooms and a rooftop public eating establishment with outdoor dining. The hotel will yield a total built-up area spanning 60,717 square feet. The scope of work also entails the conversion of an existing motel building to incidental office use with staff room and storage facility.
A project review meeting has been scheduled on June 14. 2023 at 6:30 p.m., details of which can be found here. The project site sits southeasterly of the intersection of Monterey Road and San Jose Avenue.
