Permits have been filed for a small residential infill project at 490 Ellington Avenue in San Francisco’s Outer Mission neighborhood. The proposal would subdivide an existing parcel and add three units behind an existing single-family house. Ronald Yu of Yuflux Engineering is listed as responsible for the application.

The proposal would subdivide the parcel and replace the current backyard facing Whipple Street with a three-story complex. The new structure would include two apartments and an accessory dwelling unit. Full build-out for the site would provide parking for two cars and three bicycles.
The property owner is listed as a local individual and current resident of 490 Ellington Avenue. Public records show the existing house was built in 1917 by an unknown architect. The new housing is expected to rise along Whipple Avenue between Ellington Avenue and Rae Avenue. The site is a block away from the transit thoroughfare of Mission Street and three blocks from Cayuga Park.

Construction is estimated to cost around $650,000, a figure not inclusive of all development costs. A timeline for completion has not yet been shared.
