Preliminary permits have been submitted seeking the reviewal of two affordable housing buildings at 2315 Canoas Garden Avenue in South San Jose. The project proposal includes 100% affordable housing buildings, one for seniors and one for families. The residences that are being planned will be a few blocks from the Curtner light rail station.
Sand Hill Property Co. is the project developer and filed for the permits.
Located next to the Cathedral of Faith church, the project site is a 13.4-acre lot. The houses will be built on a portion of the church’s property that is now utilized as a parking lot. The residences will be offered as a mix of studios, one-bedroom units, two-bedroom units, and three-bedroom houses. The residential complex will also include a courtyard for its residents.
The buildings will rise to an elevation height of five stories. The buildings will contain a community room on each level.
The project site is located near the interchange of State Route 87 and Curtner Avenue.
