Today’s Berkeley Planning Commission Meeting to Discuss the San Pablo Corridor Specific Plan

The Berkeley Planning Commission will hold its monthly meeting later today at the North Berkeley Senior Center. One of the meeting’s main focuses will be the new San Pablo Avenue Specific Plan, which will guide the future development of the entire San Pablo Avenue economic corridor. If approved by the planning commission, this plan may have far-reaching impacts on the future of development in a large swath of Western Berkeley.

Illustrations Revealed Ahead of Meeting for BART’s El Cerrito Plaza Proposal

New illustrations have been revealed for BART’s proposed redevelopment of El Cerrito Plaza in El Cerrito, Contra Costa County. The images were released ahead of the El Cerrito city council meeting tonight at 7 PM. The transit-oriented project would create 750-800 new apartments ranging from market rate to low-income housing. Holliday Development, Related California, and SAHA are responsible for the development.

Related CA, Holliday Development, To Develop Housing at El Cerrito Plaza BART Station

BART has announced that they have picked two developers to form a joint venture for 780 new residences around the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station, with 49% units as affordable, and a public library. Related California and Holliday Development were chosen. The joint venture now must negotiate the terms of agreement with BART to start the two-to-three-year process of producing a development concept.
