A sizeable multifamily project is under construction at 555 Golden Gate Avenue in Civic Center, Downtown San Francisco. The project, named “Elevant,” will stand 11 floors tall, providing 55 residential units. Developed by JS Sullivan, residents of the future tower will enjoy various amenities, like access to a roof deck, furnished lobby, and a barbecue grill. Residential parking will be offered on-site, with vehicle stackers used to maximize space. All residential units will be condos.

RG Architecture is responsible for the design. Their renderings depict a modern tower with large glass windows and white cladding punctuated with exposed balconies. Floor-to-ceiling windows span the building’s connection with the sidewalk.

The site is between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street, within walking distance of many businesses, restaurants, parks, and offices. It also sits nearby to the many transit options passing through the bustling downtown, with the Civic Center BART station just six blocks away.

Demolition was already underway as of 2019. Sales will open as early as this Winter.
