Permits have been filed for a new mixed-use building at 1021 Valencia Street in the Mission District area of San Francisco. The site is between 21st street and 22nd Street. A nearby transit connection can be made to BART via 24th St Mission Station, only five blocks from the property.
The permit calls for the construction of a new, six-floor building. The building will contain 24 residential units. It will meet affordable housing criteria, as two residential units in the structure are listed as below-market rate. A 3,400 square foot retail space will be located on the ground floor. There will also be a 750 square foot rear yard that could have restaurant infrastructure, adding even more life to the already bustling corridor.
The potential future building would replace a two-floor building used for industrial purposes. The building, used by San Francisco Auto Works, boasts a vibrant blue color on the exterior at has a nice, triangulated crown perched atop the building.
Developers estimate the cost for construction is $9,069,900. An estimated completion date for the project has not been announced.
