Building permits have been filed seeking the approval of a hotel at 629 Richard Boulevard in Sacramento. The project proposal includes the construction of a five-story hotel with onsite amenities and parking.
Lowney Architecture is responsible for the designs. WDSLA is the landscape architect. Rose Bernard Studio is the interior designer.
Named Caption by Hyatt, the hotel will be a five-story building with a total built-up area spanning 146,889 square feet. The hotel will offer 201 guest rooms, 119 parking spaces, apartment-style rooms, lounge area, and other amenities. All onsite parking will be served by valet service from the newly constructed curbside drop-off along Township 9.
Renderings reveal a Romanesque revival-style building is three stories, showcasing Moorish and Byzantine architectural elements from 1928.
The submitted application requests director-level review of site plan and design review of the building and site improvements and tree permit for the removal of city trees. Nestled in the historic Sutter District, Hyatt House Sacramento/Midtown has remodeled the Eastern Star Hall building, creating a modern experience within downtown Sacramento’s thriving art, music, entertainment, and cultural scene.
The site is situated across from Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, close to Capitol Mall, Crocker Art Museum, and Old Sacramento Waterfront.
