Earlier this week, funding was approved for a multi-family residential project proposed for development at 420 Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa. The project proposal includes the construction of an eight-story building featuring residential units, retail space, onsite parking, amenities, and landscaped areas.

Related California is the project developer. David Baker Architects is responsible for the designs.

The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 0.64 acres. The multi-family development will offer 168 rental apartments and 2,300 square feet of neighborhood-serving retail space. The residences will be offered as a mix of 168 studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. On-site vehicle parking will be provided by a 100-space mechanical parking garage.

The eight-story building will also showcase onsite parking, a landscaped paseo, a ground-floor resident co-working lounge, a fitness center, and a club room with panoramic views and an adjoining outdoor roof deck. Groundbreaking is anticipated to occur immediately following this financial closing, with completion projected for 2Q 2025.

Related California announced the approval of financial funding of $61.4M on Monday, March 20th, 2023, with lenders East West Bank, Preferred Bank, and RED Housing Fund. The project site is located at the intersection of 5th Street and Mendocino Avenue in downtown Santa Rosa. The development will sit a short walk from Courthouse Square.

  2. This is one of many mid-rise developments in Santa Rosa. Many of them are affordable housing.

    3 west 3rd, pullman flats, 888 4th street, 1 Santa Rosa Ave, etc.
