Updated plans are moving forward for a four-story hotel at 2 Petaluma Boulevard South in downtown Petaluma, Sonoma County. Earlier this week, the project was approved by the city’s Historic and Cultural Preservation Committee after the applicant reduced the overall height and guestroom capacity. Newport Beach-based EKN Development Group is the project developer.

The roughly 44-foot-tall structure is expected to yield approximately 39,950 square feet, including 56 guestrooms, amenities, and a restaurant. The restaurant will be split between the ground floor and a rooftop deck. Additional amenities will include a second-floor fitness center and a third-floor spa. Guest parking will be provided through a valet service, with ten spaces on-site and additional parking off-site.

Page Southerland Page is responsible for the design and landscape architecture. Page was acquired by Stantec in August 2025. Renderings show a contemporary, stripped-back aesthetic that takes direct inspiration from the Victorian architecture of the Petaluma Masonic Hall & Lodge. Facade materials will include a brick veneer, exposed concrete, metal panels, stucco, and wood cladding.
