Environmental Review Starts For 41-Story Offices at 530 Sansome Street, San Francisco

The environmental review process has started for the potential mixed-use 41-story tower at 530 Sansome Street in San Francisco’s Financial District. The city’s planning department has issued the notice of preparation for the Environmental Impact Report, accepting public comment to inform the scope of the report. The project will include offices, a 200-key hotel, and a four-story replacement fire station across from the Transamerica Pyramid. Related and the City are jointly responsible for the project in a public-private partnership.

El Cerrito Plaza TOD Received $39 Million in State Funding

The City of El Cerrito and project developer Related California have been awarded $39.1 million in state funding for the El Cerrito Plaza Transit-Oriented Development in Contra Costa County. The financing will allow the team to start construction on the first affordable housing building in phase one, which is expected to start next year.

Related California has filed revised permits for a 41-story mixed-use tower at 530 Sansome Street in San Francisco’s Financial District. The latest iteration would bring over 400,000 square feet of office space and a 200-key hotel above a new San Francisco Fire Department fire station, making it the first high-rise commercial proposal in the Bay Area since 2021. Related and the City are jointly responsible for the project in a public-private partnership.

Sunnyvale Celebrates Opening of Affordable Housing, Meridian

The City of Sunnyvale celebrated the official opening of Meridian, a new affordable housing complex at 397 South Mathilda Avenue. Construction has topped out on the eight-story housing complex at 420 Mendocino Avenue in Downtown Santa Rosa, Sonoma County. Related California started construction in 2023 after securing a $61.4 million construction financing loan with East West Bank, Preferred Bank, and RED Housing Fund. Now that the structure has topped out, crews are on schedule for the projected opening in Spring 2025.

BART Reviews Plans for El Cerrito Plaza BART Station

The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit Board of Directors recently reviewed the latest plans for the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station. The public presentation includes a tentative phasing schedule, which says construction on the several-hundred-unit masterplan could start as early as next year. The transit agency is working with Related California and Holliday Development.
