Demolition Permits Filed for 12 Structures for Sunnydale HOPE SF, San Francisco

Demolition permits have been filed for twelve buildings along Sunnydale Avenue as part of Blocks One through Four in the Sunnydale HOPE SF redevelopment plan. The Sunnydale community was originally built during World War Two but has since become one of San Francisco’s most acutely neglected public housing neighborhoods. Mercy Housing and Related California are jointly responsible for the redevelopment that will offer replacement housing on top of nearly 1,000 new apartments.

Applications were submitted seeking the approval of constructing a new hotel at 530 Sansome Street in Financial District, San Francisco. An alternate proposal has been submitted that suggests building housing instead of the hotel. Related California is the project developer. The project is designed by the San Francisco office of architecture firm, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).

New Residence Planned For 9409 International Boulevard, Elmhurst Park, Oakland

Development permits have been submitted for constructing a new residential building on 9404 International Boulevard, Oakland. The proposed project includes the demolition of an existing two-story mixed-use building at 9401 and the construction of 55 residential units. The new construction also consists of a commercial space covering approximately 2700 square feet on the ground floor. A total of 29 parking spaces will be designed. YHLA Architects is managing the design and construction of this project.
