The San Ramon Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans tonight for housing at 3000-5000 Executive Parkway within the Bishop Ranch campus in San Ramon, Contra Costa County. The project will divide the Bishop Ranch 8 parcel, also known as Canopy, into two separate developments, one for single-family housing and the other for an affordable apartment complex. Alexander Properties Company is responsible for the application, working with Eden Housing for the affordable component.

Planning Commission Voting Tonight On 2453 Camino Ramon, San Ramon

The San Ramon Planning Commission is scheduled to vote on plans tonight for the affordable housing project at 2453 Camino Ramon within the Bishop Ranch master plan. The proposal looks to add two hundred rental units across two structures on a narrow lot across from the City Villages by Summerhill Homes. Eden Housing is responsible for the application.

The Sunset Development Company has submitted a new layout and design plans for The Orchards Development Project, formally called Chevron Park in San Ramon. Initial Proposals for redeveloping the site were first brought in 2023, but the new plans are modified and more detailed. Plans include layouts for three districts as part of the development area along Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon.

The project could replace the office campus’s medical center with nearly two hundred homes. Trumark Homes is sponsoring the project on behalf of Sunset Development, the property owner.

A few weeks ago, YIMBY visited Bishop Ranch in San Ramon to learn more about plans to build thousands of new homes in the business park. The 2020-approved project has been revised to include an additional 2,6000 units on top of the former Chevron headquarters, with plans to modernize their remaining office space with added flexibility to attract and retain tenants. During our visit, YIMBY got to talk with Alex Mehran Jr, president and chief executive officer of Sunset Development Company.

The seven-story proposal will create over four hundred new homes at 6200 Bollinger Canyon Road as part of the much larger 4,500-unit CityWalk masterplan led by Sunset Development. AvalonBay Communities is the project sponsor.
