The project is part of the 4,500-unit CityWalk masterplan poised to reshape the heart of the growing Tri-Valley city. Related Companies is the project application.

The documents show Related Companies is planning to build a 406-unit building as part of the 4,500-home CityWalk Master Plan led by the Sunset Development Company. The project would create a new auto-centric podium building on vacant land if built.
Plans are under review for a new senior housing project at Bishop Ranch 1A in San Ramon, Contra Costa County. The proposal is part of the much larger 4,500-unit CityWalk master plan, spearheaded by Sunset Development to create a new district in the city. This first portion will create 183 beds, offering assisted and independent living for seniors living in the Tri-Valley. The Texas-based Belmont Village Senior Housing company is sponsoring the development.
The East Bay Times has reported that the San Ramon City Council unanimously approved the CityWalk development for Bishop Ranch. The project has the potential to be a catalyst for a new direction in suburban San Ramon. Thanks to city approval, Sunset Development Company is set to build 4,500 new apartment units and a mixed-use neighborhood that encourages foot traffic, bicycle use, and public transit. Most impressively, no residential neighborhoods were displaced. The adaptive reuse of parking land will transform one percent of the city’s area to house ten percent of its population.
