The development is poised to bring new affordable housing and the Native American Health Center to a former surface parking lot. Berkeley-based Satellite Affordable Housing Associates is the developer, with Nibbi as the general contractor.
New renderings have been revealed alongside building permits filed for a six-story affordable housing complex at 1701 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, Alameda County. The project will replace a portion of the Berkeley Adult School’s parking lot with over a hundred homes. Preliminary plans have been filed for an eight-story affordable housing project at 125 East 12th Street in Merritt, Oakland. The proposal would rise next to East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation’s approved plans for affordable housing at 121 East 12th Street. Satellite Affordable Housing Associates is leading the project and working with co-developer Eastlake United for Justice.
The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit Board of Directors recently reviewed the latest plans for the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station. The public presentation includes a tentative phasing schedule, which says construction on the several-hundred-unit masterplan could start as early as next year. The transit agency is working with Related California and Holliday Development.
