Concrete has surpassed the halfway point, with completion expected by mid-2027 for the 86-unit complex. Related Companies and the San Francisco Housing Development Corp are sponsoring the development. Construction is being led by a joint venture with Cahill Contractors and Guzman Construction Group.

Significant construction progress has been made for the nine-story affordable housing complex at 1515 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The full-concrete frame is close to topping out, with facade installation yet to start. Chinatown Community Development Center and the Mission Economic Development Agency are jointly responsible for the project.

Construction restarted in the spring of this year after work was stalled in 2022 after a neighboring property owner complained about construction compromising their structure’s foundation. Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation is the project developer.
