Zoning Worksheet Filed for Interim Projects at 430 Broadway in Oakland

Plans for a major affordable housing development in Oakland have gradually progressed since early 2022. However, the current site of 430 Broadway in Oakland’s Jack London neighborhood has remained unused during the planning and preparation of the project. A new zoning worksheet filed with the City of Oakland would allow the demolition of some existing structures and the placement of interim site improvements.

Development Permit Filed for 430 Broadway In Jack London, Oakland

Development permits have been filed seeking the approval of a new mixed-use project at 430 Broadway in the Jack London district, Oakland. The project proposal includes the construction of three buildings offering commercial spaces and up to 300 residential units at affordable rates. The project calls for the demolition of an existing four-story government building and associated surface parking on the site. Related Companies and East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) are the project developers. David Baker Architects is responsible for the design, with Y.A.
