New permits have been filed seeking the approval of a housing project proposed for development at 531 Stanford Avenue in Palo Alto. The project proposal includes the construction of a housing community offering 30 single-family homes and 6 multi-family homes. The project site is currently developed with two hotel buildings and three commercial buildings.

Stanford Orion is the project applicant. HMC Associates is responsible for the designs.

The project site comprises six parcels, spanning a total area of 1.18 acres. Named The Methuselah at Palo Alto, the scope of work includes constructing 30 new detached single-family homes and six new below-market-rate units in a standalone multi-family building. Twenty percent of the residential units in the project would be deed-restricted for lower-income households. A total of 61 garage spaces and 4 other spaces are also proposed as a part of the project.

The project site is situated at the intersection of Stanford Avenue and El Camino Real in Palo Alto.

The project applicant has submitted a preliminary application, under Senate Bill 330 (SB 330), and the Builder’s Remedy for the
proposed housing development project. The project seeks the City’s approval of a Vesting Tentative Parcel Map and may also require a condominium map.

The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.

  1. Come on you need a little more information like renderings or more detailed floor plans

  2. Seriously, “The Methuselah”? Maybe it’s a retirement home! Or do they mean “Leviathan”? And six-story SFHs? Weird.

  3. I’m trying to picture a “six story single family home” but not doing well.
