Development permits have been submitted seeking the approval of a new residential project proposed for development at 479 42nd Street in Temescal, Oakland. The project proposal includes the construction of a four-unit residential building. The project site is currently developed with a church spanning an area of 5,000 square feet.
Dogtown Development is the project applicant. Midtown Development LLC is the project owner. Kathy Kuhner is listed as the project designer.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 0.17 acres. The project proposes to bring a residential project consisting of four units and four parking spaces on the site. The dwelling units will range from 1,800 square feet to 2,100 square feet.
An SB9 lot split has already been approved. It allows homeowners to create up to four homes on an existing parcel, in effect, eliminating single-family-only zoning.
The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet. More details on the project design and development team is yet to be released. The project site is located between Rich Street and 42nd Street. Stay tuned to SFYIMBY.com for more updates.

It seems like a great use for this property. Why is it being held up do you know? It’s a pretty run down deconsecrated church right now and who wants that??
