The property is being called Mills Grove due to its close proximity to the historic Mills College at Northeastern Campus. The most recent permits appear to be a modification to previous permits filed at 5091 MacArthur Boulevard earlier this year.
Crews are making progress on a four-story mixed-use complex at 6501 Shattuck Avenue in Bushrod, North Oakland. Concrete is passing the first floor as construction is moving ahead for 18 apartments above a large ground-floor retail space. Magganas Properties is responsible for the development, filing through Bruder LLC.
A building worksheet has been submitted for the ongoing proposal at 430 Broadway in Oakland. Last reported on by SF YIMBY in December of 2025, the development plans have since progressed past interim site projects and is now ready to move forward with major building plans.
A pre-application including several basic pieces of information was submitted for a property at 316 12th Street in Oakland. The planned project would keep the property exterior unchanged, while making interior modifications to the layout and building use. The main expected change from the renovations is the conversion of its existing office and retail space to nine additional housing units and residential support spaces.
Construction has topped out for the eight-story affordable housing complex at 2125 Telegraph Avenue in Uptown, Oakland. The project is looking to add just under a hundred units a couple of blocks away from the 19th Street Oakland BART Station. Mercy Housing is the project developer, and Cahill is the general contractor.
