Preliminary permits have been filed for a suburban infill at 205 West Middle Avenue in Morgan Hill, Santa Clara County. If built, the development will replace a large swath of agricultural land with nearly a hundred dwellings, averaging slightly over five units per acre. Shizao Zheng of Henghou Group is listed as the property owner through Hengli 14 LLC.
The project will yield over a quarter million square feet of floor area across 68 single-family homes and 26 townhomes. Of the 94 homes, 19 will be designated as affordable to low-income households. Details about the potential architectural aesthetics have yet to be revealed.
VER Consultants will be involved as the consultants, civil engineers, and architects. The pre-application aims to invoke Senate Bill 330 to streamline the approval process.
The 18.2-acre property is located at Monterey Road and West Middle Avenue. The site is close to the suburban Glenrock Builders proposal for 248 units, including 71 apartments, split between 14465 Monterey Road and 360 West Middle Avenue.
