State Launches Investigation For San Francisco’s Lengthy Approval Process

San Francisco takes longer than any other city in California to approve new housing. For this reason, the State of California’s Department of Housing and Community Development has launched its first-ever investigation with the Housing Accountability Unit. According to the HCD, the team will be “identifying and removing barriers to approval and construction of new housing there.”

Permanently Affordable Housing Breaks Ground At 180 Jones Street, Tenderloin, San Francisco

Mayor London N. Breed, representatives from the California Department of Housing and Community Development, and local community leaders recently celebrated the groundbreaking for an affordable housing project at 180 Jones Street in Tenderloin, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the development of 70 100% affordable homes for the unhoused. Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) is the project developer. Van Meter Williams Pollack is responsible for the design concepts. Cahill Contractors is responsible for the construction.
