Proposed Redevelopment of the JFCS Holocaust Center Receives Initial Approvals

The existing site location of the Jewish Family and Children’s Services building at 2245 Post Street and its neighboring parcel at 2255 Post Street have received a notice of determination, allowing them to proceed to the next phase of development for a new Holocaust Center. The JFCS is self-sponsoring the project, which is to become a combined office space and community building dedicated to the education and awareness of issues surrounding antisemitism, racism, and genocide, both past and present.

New building permits have been filed for the construction of a new four-story center for the Jewish Family and Children’s Services Holocaust Center at 2245 Post Street in the Lower Pacific Heights, San Francisco. The complex will serve as a future headquarters for the non-profit social service organization, alongside a ground-floor exhibition, archives, a Holocaust library, and meeting spaces. JFCS is listed as the property owner.
