Plans are in the works for a 10-story residential building at 101 Delmas Avenue near downtown San Jose. The site is between Lakehouse Avenue and West San Fernando Street. The property is located just beyond downtown San Jose and located across the street from the light rail San Fernando Station.

The 10-story structure plans will provide 63 residential units for the neighborhood, along with some ground-floor retail space. The site is currently home to a one-floor retail structure surrounded by surface parking. The retail space is home to Delmas Market and features a stylish mural in the side of the building front West San Fernando Street.

Currently, the Guadalupe Freeway acts like a barrier for development between the address and the downtown hub. The highway has contained the natural growth of the downtown core into this area. However, recent development nearby is laying the foundations for urbanization. It could spark a slew of development along the transit lines coming out of downtown San Jose and stretch the size and area of what is already one of the state’s largest employment centers.

The developer for the project was not listed. However, Mercury News reports that the architecture firm Eaton Hall are involved with the project.
