Takara Bio USA has released renderings showing off their new vision for the two office buildings at 2560-70 Orchard Parkway in North San Jose. The Bio company hopes to develop a campus environment with enclosed courtyards taking over existing surface parking. Each building will have 64,500 square feet of space, making 129,000 square feet of space in total. Tamara paid $44.8 million in May for the properties. The company is a silicon-based component of a Japanese. Currently, they occupy 57,000 square feet of office space at 1290 Terra Bella Avenue in Mountain View.
The office buildings’ site is on the outer fringes of the massive North San Jose office complex. Currently, the future campus is surrounded by large fields, a space that is supposed to be new office structures in the future. The buildings that they will soon occupy will have minor changes to their façades, as they will remove “the postmodern stucco elements [of the structure] and replace them with a simpler canopy design,” according to what the company submitted to San Jose planners.
The site sits at the intersection of Orchard Parkway and Component Drive. Via a short walk on Component Drive, light rail is accessible through the Component Station, offering easy access to downtown San Jose, where many residents live, and Caltrain can make connections.
DG Architects have drafted the design for the proposal. An estimated completion date was not announced.
