San Jose City Planning Commission will review development permits seeking the approval of a six-story mixed-use project at 1936 Alum Rock Avenue in Mayfair North, San Jose. The project proposal includes constructing a mixed-use development with 194 multifamily residences, a commercial space, and podium parking on the ground floor. The project seeks a Conditional Use Permit to construct and operate the new infrastructure.
Architects Orange is managing the design concepts and construction of the project. Pacific West Communities, Inc is the project applicant and property owner.

The project site is a 1.49-acre lot. The gross floor area of the building is 165,659 square feet. Named Villa Del Sol Mixed-Use Residential, the development will house residences on the upper floors and commercial space on the ground floor, spanning 3,000 square feet. The multifamily homes are 100% affordable units. On-site amenities include three open space courtyards, a lobby, a mailroom, a club room, a fitness center, and two laundry rooms on each floor. The gross floor area of the building is 165,659 square feet.
The building facade will rise to a height of eighty-three feet.

The property is situated on the south of Alum Rock Avenue between South Sunset Avenue and McCreery Avenue. The planning commission will be conducting a meeting on April 14, 2021, details of which can be found here.
