Permits have been requested for a three-story apartment complex on the open land at 7543 Wainscott Way in Meadowview, Southwestern Sacramento. The project would fill an expansive vacant lot with 358 apartment units. The project is preliminarily called the Clover Workforce Apartments, though an applicant is not attributed.

Information about the proposed development is limited in its infancy, and details will likely fluctuate as the development process fine-tunes the project to fit the neighborhood. The existing proposal rises no higher than three floors. The 358 apartments will benefit from an over two thousand square foot community room, a single-story clubhouse spanning over five thousand and five hundred square feet, and parking for 401 vehicles. The total square footage is to span 385,170 square feet.

The property will be across from the Meadowview Station, a light rail station that travels from North Laguna through Southwestern Sacramento directly into Downtown Sacramento. The station is a little under half an hour away from the State Capitol building via public transit.

The property in its existing condition is open land surrounded by suburban sprawl, some public parks, a technical school, and limited retail. It’s unclear if 7543 Wainscott would also include retail to enrich the neighborhood right by public transit.
