Permits have been filed seeking the approval of a residential project located at 425 Auzerais Avenue in San Jose. The project proposal includes the development of 100 percent affordable residences.

Eden Housing is the project applicant. OJK Architecture + Planning is responsible for the design concepts. L&D Construction is the general contractor.

The project site is an L-shaped parcel spanning an area of 1.02 acres. The project proposes an apartment complex featuring 130 affordable units, with 65 units reserved for permanent supportive housing for formerly residentially challenged people.

The apartment complex will feature drought-tolerant landscaped outdoor spaces with a fitness loop and a community garden. Onsite amenities include a computer learning center, a community room, a fitness/yoga studio, laundry room, EV charging stations, and a bicycle storage room. The property will have onsite support and resident services.

Financial partners include CA TCAC (4% LIHTC), CDLAC (Tax-Exempt Bonds), County of Santa Clara (Measure A Affordable Housing Fund), CA HCD (Affordable Infill Infrastructure Grant Program – IIG; Alternative Process No Place Like Home – NPLH), HUD, and the Santa Clara County Housing Authority (Section 8 Project-Based Vouchers).

The project is under review and an estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet. The property site is located half a mile from Diridon Station at the corner of Auzerais Avenue and Delmas Avenue.
