New development permits have been submitted seeking the approval of a new office and research project proposed at 2590 Walsh Avenue in Santa Clara. The project proposal includes the development of a new four-story data center building.
Vantage Data Centers purchased the property for $40 million nine months ago.
The property site is a parcel spanning an area of 6.7 acres. The new construction will boast of a four-story building spanning an area of 469,467 square feet. The building will offer eight data center halls. The property site is occupied by a single-story building built in 1980 and spanning an area of 113,600 square feet.
Vantage already has two data centers on Walsh Avenue. Vantage’s Santa Clara campus currently measures 21 acres, offering more than 335,000 square feet (31,100 sq m) of data center space and 77MW of capacity. Facebook is reportedly a major customer on the campus.
The project is under review and an estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
