Applications have been filed for a relatively mid-density mixed-use project with housing at 2855 Willow Pass Road in Bay Point, Contra Costa County. The multi-family development would add 130 new homes and commercial retail. The project applicant is not listed.
An anonymous applicant filed for planning, pre-application review, and major residential and commercial development with Contra Costa County. The application specifies the development will rise four stories with 130 units oriented for families. The ground-floor commercial space will span 10,740 square feet.
Construction will span three contiguous lots for a total 3.27-acre footprint.
2855 Willow Pass Road is along the existing commercial thoroughfare in Bay Point, seven minutes away from the Pittsburg / Bay Point BART station by bicycle or by a Tri Delta Transit bus. Future residents will also have access to a local park, a family services center, restaurants and shops, and the Bay Point Regional shoreline with views of Suisun and Honker Bay.
Though comparatively small, the proposal will be among the taller projects to rise in the unincorporated town, located between Martinez, Concord, and Pittsburg, but the pressure to meet the Bay Area’s housing needs provide good reason to imagine denser housing.
SFYIMBY has contacted the Contra Costa County planning department for information about the application and has not received a comment as of the time of publication.
