The city of Sacramento might soon welcome a theater building at 1800 24th Street in Sacramento. The project proposal includes the development of a new theater building offering various recreational areas for public use. Plans call for the demolition of an exisiting industrial warehouse occupying an area of 25,371 square feet.
The new theater building will include an entry plaza, an auditorium, a lower lobby, offices, and loading/un-loading areas on the ground floor. The theater building will also offer spaces for an upper lobby, concession, back of house, dressing rooms, and shower rooms. The entire building will have new HVAC, electric and plumbing systems throughout.
Modifications to the existing site paving and landscaping along North and East facades are also proposed.
The cost of the project is estimated at $14 million. The project is pending approval from the Sacramento Planning Commission. Applications have been submitted and await discussions. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
