A new residential project has been approved for development at 3765-3789 Castro Valley Boulevard in Alameda County. The project proposal includes the development of a mixed-use condominium project with townhomes, accessory dwelling units, and retail space. The project will be developed at the former “Tra-Tel” mobile home park.
City Ventures is the project developer. Fourner Design Studio (FDS) is responsible for the design concepts.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 2.27 acres. The CVMAC approved a mixed-use proposal for a condominium project with 47 townhome-style units, 24 accessory dwelling units, and 4,890 square feet of retail space at the former “Tra-Tel” mobile home park. There will be a total of eight buildings constructed as part of the project including two being two stories high and six that are three stories high. Parking space for 125 vehicles with 94 exclusives for residential and 21 spaces for shared guest/retail parking is also proposed.
The council approved the plan with the caveat that the ALCO Planning Commission consider recommendations including relocating trash enclosures/play area, increasing retail space at building B in the plan that faces Castro Valley boulevard, and working on more onsite parking at Norbridge.
In 2016, 25 park residents at “Tra-Tel” were notified owners Michael and Sheila Cooper and Paul Dresnick were planning to sell the park and redevelop the parcel next to the Castro Valley library but face Castro Valley Boulevard. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
