A new mixed-use project has been proposed for construction at 557 East Bayshore Road in Redwood City, San Mateo County. The project proposal includes the development of a mixed-use building offering residential and commercial spaces along with onsite amenities, outdoor spaces, and parking.

The project calls for the demolition of an existing development to construct a mixed-use project with residential and commercial components. The residential part will consist of 480 rental units, 85 of which are affordable units. The commercial part will consist of a premier athletic club and spa for families, primarily consisting of a two-level 97,101 square-foot building and outdoor spaces. A total of 1,122 parking spaces will be provided on the site along with new landscaping, brand-new Bay Trail connection, publicly accessible open space, picnic tables, seating area, public art installations and a 60-foot visual and pedestrian landscaped paseo.

The project documents have been submitted, and an EIR has been published. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
