A residential project has been approved for development at 1265 Montecito Avenue in Mountain View. The project proposal includes the construction of two new five-story multifamily residential buildings. Plans call for the demolition of an existing building on the site.
Charities Housing is the project developer. Rincon Consultants is the city’s environmental consultant for the project.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 1.04 acres. The project will bring two new residential buildings rising to five stories, offering residential units on the four topmost levels. The proposed buildings will include 84 affordable dwelling units and one manager’s unit. The ground floor will offer space for covered parking, residential common areas, and utility spaces.
The proposed buildings will be connected by footbridges on the third, fourth, and fifth floors of the structures. The project is working towards 2022 entitlements with a planned mix of units restricted to families making between 25% to 60% area median income (AMI), including units available for ELI families, veterans, and rapid rehousing. On-site services and amenities will include a Community Room available to the public, gardens and common areas, resident services, private storage, bicycle parking, and a food pantry.
The project is located within a half-mile distance of a major transit stop. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
