Building permits have been filed seeking the approval of a residential project proposed for development at 1103 D Street in Alkali Flat, Sacramento. The project proposal includes the construction of a new three-story apartment building offering units for multi-family housing. Plans call for the demolition of two existing duplexes on the site.

The project site combines three parcels and spans an area of 3,049 square feet. The three-story building will yield a built-up area of 25,000 square feet. The apartment complex will bring 36 residential units into the three-story building. The units will be designed as a mix of studios and one-bedroom units.

The project application has been submitted for a review along with demolition permits. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.

Stay tuned for more details on the project development and design team.

  1. So many vacant lots in this city. Why tear down existing structures that have architectural interest and history?

    • A program where ‘property owner A’ who wants to develop their property into a higher density development can legally trade their property (untaxed with limited fees) to ‘property owner B’ who has an empty lot with no plans to develop but would prefer having ‘property owner A’s’ property with dwelling units. Could make sense!
