Development permits have been filed seeking the approval of a new mixed-use project at 1405 Wood Street in Oakland. The project proposal includes the construction of a mixed-use building offering spaces for residential and retail uses.

City Ventures is the project developer. Oakland 7 Inv LLC, a Delaware limited liability company is the property owner.

The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 4.65 acres. A new mixed-use project has been proposed to bring 90 residential units and retail space. The residential spaces comprise of 86 townhome-style condominiums and 4 stacked flats. Commercial space spanning an area of 1,558 square feet will also be developed along Wood Street.

This project is applying under the Housing Crisis Act, SB 330, which seeks to boost homebuilding throughout the State with a focus on urbanized zones by expediting the approval process for and suspending or eliminating restrictions on housing development and limiting the number of public meetings.

The project site is located near newly built residences. The property site sits a 17-minute walk away from West Oakland BART Station, a 15-minute drive from the nearest Caltrain station, and a 19-minute drive from Oakland International Airport.

    City Ventures already built town homes on the 1400 block. This must be a mistake.

      The planning application is about this site. City Ventures states this is the second development they’re building around the 16th Street Station. Details to come out tomorrow
