A new residential project has been proposed for development at 1657 Mason Street in Russian Hill, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the addition of two residential units to a property with two existing units in an R-3 structure, resulting in a new four-story building.
Consortium Architecture is responsible for the designs.
The scope of the project includes residential addition of two units to a property with two existing units in an R-3 structure. The project will yield a total residential built-up spanning an area of 1,2614 square feet. Additionally, proposed rear modification consists of constructing a three-story structure over an existing concrete garage structure. Lower unit on the first floor consists of a one-bedroom unit, upper unit on the second floor consists of three three-bedroom units. A stair/elevator core will also be proposed to serve the addition and will act as the primary entrance for the addition off Green Street. The existing structure with two units will be retained. Four onsite vehicle and four bike parking spaces will be provided spanning an area of 3,337 square feet.
A project review meeting has been scheduled. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.

Is the Architect uninformed of rear yard requirements in the city? Lol
Well if they’re going have such a big addition I feel they should have at least 2 off-street parking for each unit. The parking is premium on Russian Hill.
