A new residential project has been proposed for development at 38600 Cedar Boulevard in Newark, Alameda County. The project proposal includes the construction of 14 new residential buildings offering townhomes. Plans call for the demolition of the existing buildings on the site, currently occupied by commercial/industrial uses.
William Hezmalhalch Architects (WHA) is responsible for the designs. Waymark development, CBG, Gates & Associates are all on the project team.
Named Waymark Townhomes, the project proposal includes the development of 76 three-story attached townhomes within 14 buildings. The townhomes will be designed as three-bedroom and four-bedroom floor plans. Parking for 190 spaces will also be designed on the site. The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 3.44 acres. The scope of work also includes landscaping and creating open space areas, a new private street, and on-site improvements.
Open landscaped space spanning an area of 25,808 square feet will be provided on the site.
The project requires a design review, minor use permit for a building height up to 40 feet, and a vesting tentative subdivision Map. A project application has been submitted, seeking review and approval. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
