Preliminary permits have been filed for a new six-story residential infill at 324 Alhambra Boulevard in East Sacramento. The project will replace a single-story commercial structure with just over three hundred homes and parking. The project applicant is not listed.

The preliminary application says the construction will yield a six-story complex with 302 market-rate homes and parking for 344 cars.

A lot merger has been requested, including an alley abandonment. According to the city, “once the subject right-of-way or easement is abandoned, the public use of the land or easement area is relinquished without restrictions to the property owner.” This means that the apartment complex could be built over Chinatown Alley.

Public records show the property last sold in 2002 for $120,000. Construction is expected to cost around $71.4 million.

The one-acre property is located along Alhambra Boulevard between C Street and D Street. Residents will be just two blocks from McKinley Park and McKinley Library.

  1. I hope these plans get more refined, that is WAY too much parking. Glad to see Alhambra starting to get new life.

  2. That is not East Sacramento
