The Draft Environmental Impact Report has been published for a residential complex at 19320 Highway 12, in Sonoma, Sonoma County. The project will replace a 1939-built single-family house with 50 apartments across seven structures in a development dubbed Montaldo Apartments. DeNova Homes is the project developer.

With the Draft EIR published, the City of Sonoma is now soliciting public comments to inform the final environmental review. For more information about how to view the Draft EIR and provide comments, visit the city’s project website here.
Full build-out will construct seven buildings across the 2.15-acre property. Of the 50 apartments, 13 units will be designated as affordable housing, including two units for extremely low-income households, three units for very low-income households, and eight units for low-income households. The affordable units allow the developer to utilize the State Density Bonus to increase the residential capacity above base zoning. Parking will be included for 89 cars.

WHA is responsible for the design, which takes inspiration from the Spanish Revival-style house that exists on the site, including white stucco facades, arched entrances, and tile roofing.
Construction is expected to last around 26 months from groundbreaking to completion.
