Preliminarily applications were filed for the conversion of a Church property located at 92 7th Street in Oakland. The property would be converted into a mixed-use building with both residential and commercial components as options for its usage. FARM49 is responsible for the project.
If the project goes forward, the property would be viable as a three-story building using the same enclosed area. There would be three indoor levels, dividable into different uses depending on the final plans for the project. Tierney Connor Architecture is consulting on how to divide and best convert the space for the desired usage.
The building’s location is highly walkable and ideal for any use ranging from housing to commercial to office. It lies within a few minutes walk of the Lake Merritt BART Station, nearby Oakland’s Chinatown neighborhood, and Laney College. The area has many different shops and restaurants, close access to the 880 freeway, and multiple other transit means. The site is also within walking distance of Oakland’s Financial Center and the parks around Lake Merritt.
