Development permits have been filed for a new apartment infill at 3694 Elby Lane in the North Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento. The proposal would add eight units close to the Broadway thoroughfare. Elby Land Properties is listed as the property owner.

The 25-foot-tall structure will yield around 4,160 square feet of housing, with unit sizes ranging from 356 square feet to 591 square feet. The proposal includes eight units, with four studios and four one-bedrooms.

CRKW Studio is responsible for the design. Illustrations from the Sacramento-based firm show a value-engineered design wrapped in board and batten fiber-cement siding and wood-like panels. Residential access will be possible from Elby Lane and 5th Avenue with a low gate and internal pedestrian pathway.

The 0.11-acre property is located along Elby Lane on a block bound by Broadway, 5th Avenue, and 36th Street. The site is close to the American Legion High School and McClatchy Park. Future residents will be just twenty minutes away from Downtown Sacramento via bus or bicycle.

The estimated cost and timeline for construction have yet to be shared.
