Planning permits have been filed for a large townhome-style development at 1400 Coleman Avenue in Santa Clara, near the San Jose Mineta International Airport. The proposal is looking to add well over a hundred units, averaging over 37 units per acre. City Ventures is the project developer.
Construction will produce 13 four-story buildings, each containing between seven and twenty units. Once complete, the project will produce 143 for-sale residences, including 43 units of affordable housing for a range of incomes. Residence types include 24 studios, 18 one-bedrooms, 13 two-bedrooms, and 88 three-bedrooms.

Hunt Hale Jones Architects is responsible for the design, with C2 Collaborative overseeing landscape architecture. Illustrations show that the contemporary-style townhomes will be articulated to visually distinguish units. Site amenities will include a dog park, community garden, bike racks, paseos, and private patios.
The 3.8-acre property is located along Coleman Avenue between Brokaw Road and Carl Street. The site is half a block away from Gateway Crossing, where Holland Partner Group recently opened the first phase of the mid-rise masterplan with over seven hundred units and a public park facing Brokaw Road. Future residents will be an eight-minute walk from the Santa Clara Caltrain Station, or three minutes via bicycle.

The estimated cost and timeline for construction have yet to be established.
